| Sabra Driscoll's
Spanish-style cottage featured thousands of succulents in the
back and side yards. Entering thru a wrought-iron gate, we saw
a Japanese maple, fruit trees and decorative and amusing wall
pieces. She has her front lawn asleep to save water. |
| |
| Rosemary Wadden
tended her splendid plants under a 300 year old Oak tree (Loropetalum,
pieris, saucer magnolias). We enjoyed refreshments on the raised
wood backyard area with paths to plants, fruit trees and a fishpond. |
| |
| Ellie Moll's front
yard showed us three Chinese Tallow trees. The work-in-progress
backyard replaced lawn with dymondia ground cover. Featured were
the Coral Bark Maple and two 1908 specimen trees: Camperdown
Elm and Irish Yew. Rock paths led thru plants; orchids bordered
the back door of the Spanish style home. |
| |
| Alette Mahler's
romantic Gothic Manor featured lawns, espaliered apples, bougainvillea
vines, deer-protected fruit trees and edible gardens. We admired
the new compost bins! We enjoyed majestic grouping of trees and
whimsical statuary. The poolside refreshments offered us a whole
valley view. |
| |
| Carolyn Barnes'
front brick wall enclosed a rose arbor and her designed tile
bench, with overhead wisteria. "The Backyard's hill view
is everything for us" she told us. An expansive lawn surrounded
by vegetables, berries, and fruit trees; one Jujube. Notice mature
trees, rounded holly bushes plus a huge bottle-shaped tree gave
us plenty to explore. We left via an inner garden with its maiden
statue encircled by plants. |
