On May 9, 2008 we visited
the Chateau Charmarron Peony and Iris Gardens on Sierra Road
high above Milpitas.
Marcia Reed's property has lovely views and we had the run of
the property, viewing the plants at our leisure and enjoying
a picnic. The garden was mostly flat with no steep inclines and
the paths were dirt.
Marcia had more than 160 peony varieties and over 160 tall bearded
iris varieties. Mature peony plants in 5 gallon cans were available
for sale. |
